Wordless Wednesday

Lots of Pictures for this Wordless Wednesday (sort of wordless)!!!

 Walking with Mommy :)
Apparently he didn't like his personalized outfit!

Okay so the outfit isn't that bad!!

Yes....I made twinkies!!  When you are home and watching TV and Buddy from Cake Boss makes twinkies you get inspired!!  Thanks to a three hour nap from William yesterday I was able to whip up some twinkies!!

FAVORITE MOMENT OF THE WEEK SO FAR - this was his reaction as I walked by the swing after getting some water...heart melt!!!

Favorites

William is 6 weeks old...I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone by.  I wanted to post about some of my favorite William related things so far....of course I could write a book, but here are some of the highlights!

- love the way he hugs me after a feeding before I burp and rock him back to sleep.  His little arms wrapped around me truly bring pure joy to my life.

- the way he holds my fingers when I'm feeding him.

- the way he rests his head on my chest when I sing to him in the morning after playtime.

- the smiles...oh the smiles....while I know that most of them are probably due to gas, I love each and every one of them.  (I swear he is smiling right at me most mornings).

- Louie the light and Freddie the fan who make him smile all the time.

- the way he kicks and moves his arms when I'm changing him.

- the way he snuggles when I have him in the Moby.

- the way he smiles and laughs at the monkeys on his play mat.

- his many facial expressions as he is about to fall asleep and when he is sleeping...too cute!

- the way he spits out his pacifier when we try to convince him to use it!

- how cute he looks in his snow suits!

- the first time we put on the snow hat Kennedy gave him he kept trying to look at the side of his face because the hat came down below his ears!

- how cute he looks all swaddled

- he loves his bath so the other night, I got in the bath with him so that we could immerse him in more water and it was so cute to see his little legs floating and to put his hands all the way in the water (we still laugh when he pees)

- his cute little toots when taking a bath!

- the way we are still so surprised that he pees on us when he change his diaper frequently!!  The boy has some distance.

- the amount of love we feel for this little boy....it is overwhelming how much we love him.

More of our favorites to come soon!!  Now for some updated pictures!!

Thankful on Thursday

So many things to be thankful for :)

1) My husband who is always telling me that I'm a great mommy and doing a wonderful job.

2) Leo for putting up with Mommy, even if she yells at him for barking at a plastic bag right after Will fell asleep.  He has been doing a great job with William and is starting to be more interested in him.

3) A successful trip to Wegmans, by myself :)  (William isn't a fan of the car, mainly because he hates his car seat, until we get going and he either calms himself or falls asleep....up until that point he likes to cry and scream which makes mommy nervous and usually leads to a few stops on the way to places so Mommy can calm William down).  So this was my first solo trip in the car.  Not only did I make it to Wegmans, I ate lunch there and went to Michaels.  All of this with a happy baby in the car seat!!  The car ride home wasn't the best as he was getting hungry, but I did it :)

4) Three successful trips to Target.  Up until now, every single time I walked into Target, William would scream (the embarrassing kind) causing me to leave.  Seeing as I LOVE target, I was devastated.  Thanks to the Moby, on two occasions, and the car seat on the other we are now making successful trips to Target :)

5) A Little more Sleep (I'm not going to say anything else so I don't jinx it!!!!)

6) A wonderful Mom who gives me advice and assures me that I'm doing a great job on a daily basis.  I love you!

7) The ability to take 12 weeks off to spend with William.  I realized today that if I only took 6 weeks, I would be going back to work on Wednesday....seriously, way to early for me!!  I am so very thankful that we are able to afford me taking 12 weeks off to spend with our little man.  It is not going to be pretty when I have to go back to work...at least it will be my mom watching him for awhile :)

8)Yoga pants....need I say more!!

9) Being able to shower....while I usually take a super quick shower and don't always have time to wash my hair, I am thankful that William has allowed me to shower on a pretty regular basis!

10) Morning smiles and talking.  William is very active and alert when he wakes up for good in the morning (usually between 7-8 am).  This is my favorite time of the day because he smiles at me, coo's, and does a great job playing on his back and tummy.  We even get to snuggle for quite some time after our playtime and sometimes take a little nap before the next feeding!!

11) Louie the Light and Freddie the Fan....William is in love with our ceiling fans and the lights on them so we have named them Louie and Freddie and we enjoy seeing him smile and talk away to Louie and Freddie.

12) Being a Mom....the hardest thing I have ever done, but the BEST thing in the world.  Even when it gets tough and I'm being screamed at, I remind myself of just how lucky I am to be William's Mommy. The random smiles and grabbing of my finger or bra strap when feeding is a wonderful reminder of how lucky and thankful I truly am!!

13) Being a family of four...truly AMAZING :)

Professional Pictures

We are so thankful for Shannon, who recommended Christine Paul Photography.  We used Christine for William's newborn pictures and as you will see, she did an amazing job!  It is so hard to pick out our favorites so I've put lots on here!!  We are so thankful for our son William.  He is our dream come true and we are enjoying every moment of having him as part of our family.  Leo is still undecided about William as he is still super focused on Mommy, but as William gets older and can interact with him, I'm pretty sure Leo will be a great big brother :)  Enjoy the pictures and we cannot wait for you to meet him :)

One Month Old

William is officially 4 weeks (one month old) today :)  He hasn't had an appointment since his 2 week appointment so I'm not sure of his official height and weight.  He was 9 lbs 2 oz at his 2 week appointment and according to the scale (me weighing myself (not fun by the way) and then weighing myself with him) I believe he is a little closer to 10 lbs now.

Height/Weight - unofficially about 10 pounds I think...will let you know what his two month appointment brings!

Eating- We are breastfeeding and bottle feeding at every meal.  Due to a severe low milk supply (boo!) I have to supplement with formula.  I have finally accepted the fact that my baby boy will not be exclusively breast fed.  I am happy to report that he is getting breast milk at every meal and every little bit helps.  The lactation consultant guesses he gets about 0.5 - 1.5 oz of breast milk at each feeding.  I am using an SNS system (which if you have used one can be tricky and isn't too much fun, however, William is great at latching on).  I'm still pumping and trying my best to have a very small supply available for Will.

Sleep- William typically sleeps in 2-3 hour stretches during the day and 3 hour stretches at night.  Monday night he slept for 4 hours straight and last night made it 5 hours (I seriously didn't know what to do with myself).  I was very optimistic, however as I write this post he is currently fighting going to sleep tonight....so finger crossed for at least a three hour stretch??

Play- He loves to talk and play with his play mat in the morning and right before bath time at night.  He will smile, coo and track the hanging monkey's and lights.  Currently his favorite thing is our ceiling fan with lights.  He stares and talks to them so much we have named them Louie the light and Freddy the fan :)  He likes to grip hands and lift his head during tummy time.

Likes - Eating, Bath time (as long as the water is warm), he gets a really cute, happy look on his face when he poops, cuddles, blowing on his belly, white noise and the hair dryer.  We have recently discovered the MOBY and we love it!!  He loves kicking and moving his arms.

Dislikes - His car seat, the first 5-10 minutes of every car ride, being cold, sleeping (he seems to fight sleep frequently), binkies.  He enjoys and sleeps better when being swaddled but if he isn't in the mood to sleep he can get out of any swaddled position (with a blanket, sleep sack, or swaddle me sleeper).

We are still enamored by our little William :)

3 weeks

William is three weeks old today :)  He is struggling with fighting sleep leaving his mommy and brae tired in the AM!!  Despite the lack of sleep he is still the cutest thing ever and makes me smile, even when he is crying at me!!  I'm so thankful for him and love him so much!!

Today's pictures come from New Years Day (thanks to Maggie for the cute tuxedo outfit) and a sneak peak of his professional pictures!!
