Cute Picture

Just a quick post as I'm exhausted!!  I promise to get better with the postings once I get through the first month of school!!  So Leo hasn't seemed too excited about all the new stuff being put in his house and very rarely will he lick or lay his head on my belly....even if I put it in his face (mean I know!).  Well today he did both and I have picture proof....Will didn't kick him but nonetheless it was too cute not to share.  It is not the most flattering picture of me and only my close friends check this blog, so ignore that and enjoy the cuteness that is Will and Leo :)

24 Weeks

It has been super busy in our household the last few weeks which means some exciting posts to come.  We have been busy with baby showers, super spartan race, triathlon, getting ready for school to start and getting Williams nursery ready :)  I'm even a few days late on my 24 weeks pregnant post.  Sometimes I sit back and just smile that we've come this far :)

Here are my 24 week facts:

Total weight gain/loss: Not sure...I made a deal with myself that I will only get on a scale when I have to at my doctors appointments so I'll let you know in two weeks!!

Sleep: Good...I still get up several times a night to use the bathroom but I am able to fall back asleep quickly.  Dreams oh dreams....both good and bad, I'm having several a night which is amazing seeing as I get up so often. 

Best moment this week: Hearing his heartbeat on the doppler that I'm renting...amazing.  He kicks a lot when I use the doppler and even tries to move away...it's super cute!!

Movement: At least a few times a day.  Usually in the morning, after I eat and a little bit before I go to bed.  He is super active after I eat something cold and anything with sugar in it.  TJ hasn't been able to feel him yet but I'm hoping soon :)

Food cravings:  Cold Water with Ice and brownies/cakes/sweets!!!

Gender: It's a BOY!!

Labor Signs: Nope....please NO!

Size of baby: Cantaloupe or ear of corn...how can the websites be so drastically different??

What I miss: Hoagie or cold cut sandwich.

What I am looking forward to: TJ being able to feel him move :)

Milestones:  Little kicks and jabs several times a day :)

Thankful on Thursday

I apologize for the lack of posts as this was a super busy week with teachers returning to work and lots of meetings!!

SO much to be thankful for.....

1) 24 weeks today....pictures to come tomorrow :)

2)  Parents noticing that I am pregnant and even one little first grader asking if I had a baby in my belly....oh the happiness I feel :)

3)  A successful Open House, meeting new Kindergarten students, and seeing old students.

4)  Cooler weather has allowed me to walk Leo every night for some extra exercise.

5) Lots of movement from William the past week.  If you know me, you know that I have been a little bit worried this pregnancy and with my anterior placenta, I wasn't feeling him move that often so I broke down and rented a doppler.  (Honestly, I cannot believe I made it this far without getting one!!)  It is amazing to hear William moving around and hear his heart beating nice and fast!!!  The best part is that I feel him move, without the doppler, several times a day.

6) Sleep.....I have been so exhausted lately that I actually look forward to going to bed...even if it is 8:30 - 9:00 pm :)

7) My hubby for putting up with my occasional mood swings and constant exhaustion.

8)  Baby furniture....it's here and we cannot wait to get everything put together.  We put the chair together and it looks great!

9)  A three day weekend....thank goodness!!

10)  A very special shower for a very special baby girl due in a few weeks!!

11)  My mom for always listening and being my favorite afternoon call!!

12)  A great skype/phone date with Nomi.....so good to see her and catch up!!

San Juan Island Trip

This is a long overdue post about our trip out west to visit my parent in the San Juan Islands, off the coast of Washington State.

Luckily, the 5 1/2 hour flight was pretty uneventful....long but thanks to and empty seat between TJ and I and compression socks it wasn't that cramped or too bad.  Mom and Dad Y also joined us...sitting right behind us.  Thanks to Mom Y, I got up every hour to stretch, move around and use the bathroom.

We arrived to see my parents (holding blue, "It's a boy," balloons) and TJ's sister, Tracey and 65 degree weather....seriously WONDERFUL :)

We began the journey from the airport to the ferry, about an hour drive.  Then it was an hour ferry ride to Friday Harbor...once off the ferry, we drove 10 minutes to my parents house.  TJ and I went last year and could definitely see all the hard work and changes my parents made.

We took a trip to Victoria, British Columbia for the day and stopped at the world famous fish and chip place...super yummy!!

We visited the Lavender gardens...although I'm allergic it smelled pretty!!

My parents became friends with Bentley's sister, Holly, and we got to see them play together...so cute!!

We spent lots of time relaxing, catching up, going on walks, roasting marshmallows at the fire pit and enjoying the weather.  It was so nice to spend a full week with my parents and while I miss them every day I look forward to seeing them again soon :)

21 Weeks

21 weeks pregnant today :)  We had our Level 2 ultrasound at 20 weeks (right after we got back from our trip to visit my parents in Washington State...post coming soon!)  Everything looked "normal" and I'm progressing well (William is a little big and has long legs!!).  Did you catch his name??  William was upside down so the picture isn't the best but as always we thing it looks perfect!!  I can't figure out how to rotate the picture so you will have to turn your head :)

Total weight gain/loss: At my doctor’s appointment today I was up 7 total.

Sleep: Pretty good....I still get up to use the bathroom a few times but I'm so thirsty that I drink water at night!!  Having a hard time falling asleep but once asleep can pretty much stay asleep.  I feel bad for TJ as we have had to sleep in separate rooms a few times this week because I keep him up.

Best moment this week: Really feeling him move all around and kicking!

Movement: Found out at my Level 2 that I have an anterior placenta which was why I wasn't really feeling him move (phew) but this past week he moves, kicks and rolls several times a day.  He moves the most after I eat and when I'm sitting down.

Food cravings:  Outback Cheese fries...thanks for taking me on Wednesday honey :)

Gender: It’s a BOY....definitely a boy as confirmed at the level 2...the lady said, "no question, it's a boy, see!"

Labor Signs: NO....please NO!

Size of baby: Pomegranate or banana depending on where you look. He weighed 13 oz at our 20 weeks.  He also has very long legs at this point!

What I miss: Sleeping more on my stomach.  I never slept fully on my stomach...more like the side and stomach but now it's uncomfortable.

What I am looking forward to: TJ being able to feel him move :)

Milestones: Feeling him move this week.  Only 19 more weeks to go!!!  The doctor said today, "Everything looks great and I'll see you in 4 weeks two more times then it's every two weeks and the every week.  Your going to have a baby...YEAH!!"

Thankful on Thursday

1)  Being 18 weeks pregnant today...so excited and thrilled to meet our baby boy in December :)  Belly is growing and mommy is happy about it!!

2)  My wonderful hubby....while I am super excited to meet our baby boy, I still worry (mainly because I can't feel him yet) and have moments of "please be growing, please be growing!" and through it all he keeps smiling, rubbing my back and telling me he loves US all the time!!

3) Great pool time with Kbarbs, Tim (briefly since he was getting burnt from the shade and pavement), Lindsay, Ptown, Iya (swimming so much) and Avery!!

4)  Leo for cuddling with me every morning after TJ leaves for work and for being so excited when I finally wake up and talk to him!!

5) This time next week, We'll be with my parents enjoying some family time!!  I CANNOT WAIT!!!!  So wish they were closer, but seeing the whales is pretty impressive!

6) Some relief from the heat headed our way this weekend...did I mention that it will be a high of 70 at my parents...so excited!!!

7)  Clearing out the room that will become the baby's nursery :)

8)  My mom for agreeing to stay with us and watch the baby for a few months while I go back to work...she's the BEST!!!

Revealing Thankful on Thursday

We have lots to be thankful for this Thursday so I won't keep you in suspense!!

1)  I think it is only normal that I have been a little worried this pregnancy due to my past...my hubby likes to joke that I'm crazy (partly true).  That being said, I have been feeling lots of pressure lately and on Monday had very light and minimal spotting (twice).  So what did I do...freak out!!  Went to the doctor who didn't see anything wrong and heard a healthy and strong heartbeat, but ordered an ultrasound this week to check out the baby and my cervix (especially given my past).  Here is a happy, healthy and measuring 4 days ahead Baby Y :) The baby is looking at us and that is the left hand waving!!  We got to see the head, spine, kidney's, arms, hands, legs, feet and heart beating away!  Everything on Baby and Mommy looks great!

2)  It gets better....I know your asking how....seriously though....we found out today that Baby Y is a bouncing baby BOY :)

Thanks Ashley for the idea of how to tell our parents and siblings via  Skype :)  That is the smile of a non-crazy happy pregnant woman!!

3)  My amazing husband for putting up with my worrying, crying and constantly asking him if my belly and boobs look bigger (not that he minds that much).  He is going to be a wonderful daddy and I am blessed to be married to such a wonderful man.

4)  Ashley....for your never ending support and for keeping me calm on Monday!!  So thankful we are friends!!

5) My wonderful mother who continues to always listen to me and for always putting a positive spin on everything!  I only hope to be half the mom she is!   You are amazing mom and I love you!!

6)  Spending time with Allison and Ben this weekend!!!!

7)  Air conditioning....seriously it is disgusting outside!!

8)  Leo...my little furry boy!!  He always makes me laugh and cuddles at just the right times.  Here is a video of him playing with the sprinkler in our backyard!!  Isn't he the cutest thing ever??

 

9) Only three more weeks until we visit my parents in WA!!!

SUPER Thankful on Thursday

We are VERY thankful this Thursday....we are 12 weeks pregnant!!!

The baby is measuring 2 days ahead of schedule, has a strong heartbeat and was moving around and looking right at us....our hearts are so filled with happiness and love.

Thank you so much for your love and support....we cannot wait for you to meet our bundle of joy in December :)

Thankful Thursday

So much to be thankful for.......

1) My wonderful hubby for cooking, cleaning and putting up with my craziness the past couple of weeks.

2) Only 3 more SOL tests left to administer.........WOO HOO!!  (And did I mention only 11.5 days of school left for the kiddos and teachers!!!)

3)  Leo....just because he is so damn cute!

4) Seeing Ashley this weekend :)

5) That lovely thumping sound :)

6) June 7th....very anxious and nervous while excited at the same time.  I can make it...only a few more days :)

7)  My sister and her hubby closed on their new home in CO....much further away but more space for my two favorite nephews to run around in.

8)  My mom for always making my day better with her phone calls and emails :)

9) Homemade pretzels....amazingly yummy :)

10)  Healthy news for a friend who has been in and out of the hospital this week!

Happy Anniversary

Today is our third wedding anniversary....where did the three years go??  I'm one of those people who truly believes and knows that I married the love of my life and my best friend.  I cannot wait to spend many more years together.  I actually look forward to getting old and wrinkly with my hubby!  I love, love, love, love him!  Together we make a perfect match!  I think this sums TJ and I up:
